In the precincts of Imam al-Rida (a) in the holy city of Mashhad, on Saturday 18/7/2009 CE, Sayed Mahmoud Al-Mosawi delivered a speech to the women's delegation of the Hawza of Rahib Ahl al-Bayt (a), in the city of Kadhimiya in Iraq, whom the office of the religious authority (marjaʿ) Grand Ayatollah Sayed Muhammad Taqi al-Modarresi (may his shadow endure) was hosting. .
Sayed Al-Mosawi began with the noble verse “O you who have faith! Answer Allah and the Apostle when he summons you to that which will give you life. Know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart and that toward Him you will be mustered.” (Qurʾan 8:24), emphasizing that the mission-bearing nature of knowledge lies in the life to which it calls, on the individual and social levels and on the civilizational level.
He emphasized two fundamental dimensions, namely, looking at the source of knowledge (the Qurʾan and the Ahl al-Bayt) and at the aims of knowledge and its purposefulness.. For the deviations that afflict sects and societies afflict, in the first degree, these two dimensions: either reliance is placed on human sources that do not attain the truth, or they deprive knowledge and legislation of their aims, their message and their purpose in life, so that they become slogans without content..
Then Sayed Al-Mosawi received questions from the women's delegation about women's Hawzas, what is required of them, their aspirations and the challenges they face..
