the crowds of those offering condolences for the passing of the jurist Sayed Muhammad Rida al-Husayni al-Shirazi, from the evening of Monday, corresponding to 2 June 2008 CE, at the al-Qassab Husayniyya in Manama.
Also receiving the crowds of those offering condolences were His Eminence Sayed Jaʿfar al-ʿAlawi, the head of the Islamic Message Society, and members of the Islamic Action Society. Participating in the mourning majlis were His Eminence al-ʿAllama Sayed ʿAbd Allah al-Ghurayfi, the deputy head of the Scholars' Council, and a large gathering of scholars, students of the religious sciences, public figures and members of parliament who came to offer condolences and solace for the grievous calamity.
Shaykh ʿAbd al-Majid al-ʿUsfur graciously recited an elegy for the soul of the deceased, in which he touched on the scholarly and practical life of the deceased jurist, Ayatollah Sayed Muhammad Rida al-Husayni al-Shirazi. The mourning majlis will continue until the evening of Wednesday, corresponding to 4 June 2008 CE, at eight o'clock in the evening.
The statement of condolence for the passing of the one whom knowledge and piety have lost was distributed by the mission-driven institutions, together with a compact disc in addition to a booklet containing a brief overview of his life (q).
