News statement:
Owing to its constant and continuing successes in organizing and arranging most of the activities and celebrations of the Mission-Driven Trend, the Mission-Driven Committee was recently invited to manage and arrange an important activity to be held during the coming weeks, namely (the First Annual Qurʾan Conference), by the representative office of the Sayed, the marjaʿ, Grand Ayatollah Sayed Muhammad Taqi al-Modarresi, may his abundant shadow endure. A number of foreign guests from several countries will take part in this conference, among them (Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, in addition to the Kingdom of Bahrain).
.
In addition, Ustadh Fahmi al-Baqlawa added that a meeting was held with Hujjat al-Islam Sayed Mahmoud Al-Mosawi, in his capacity as a representative of the representative office of the Sayed, the marjaʿ al-Modarresi, and coordinator of the activity with the Mission-Driven Committee. At this meeting, emphasis was placed on hastening to reserve the conference venue and on dividing and assigning the tasks of the administrative apparatus and others. The date of this conference was also confirmed, namely Thursday and Friday, corresponding to 11 and 12 May 2006. The activity will take the form of two workshops continuing over the two days, in two periods: a morning one from eight o'clock until twelve noon, and an evening one from two o'clock until four in the afternoon, with the activities of the conference concluding on Friday evening with the issuing of a closing statement and recommendations specific to the studies of the Noble Qurʾan.
It should be noted that this activity is held at the direction of His Eminence the religious authority (marjaʿ) Grand Ayatollah Sayed Muhammad Taqi al-Modarresi, and the representative office of His Eminence is the official sponsor of the conference. It is worth mentioning that this important conference was scheduled to be held last year, but compelling circumstances stood in the way of that. The committee therefore hopes that it will be granted success this year in preparing, coordinating and arranging for the holding of this activity, and that it will succeed in this task as it has succeeded, by the grace of the Creator, the Exalted, in all its previous works.
