From the book's introduction:

To proceed: in this book I have striven, with my feeble effort, to touch upon something of the concept of service to the Imam of the Age, al-Mahdi al-Hujjah ibn al-Hasan (may our souls be his ransom). These were steps toward bringing out its foundation, clarifying its features, reaching its aims, and knowing the way to adorn oneself with its garments, relying on the noble texts of revelation and drawing insight from them.

The aim of that is for the subject of service to the Imam of the Age (aj) to be a clear course for whoever wishes to follow it, a paved path for those who travel it, and an integrated vision that brings together the various aspects of the areas of service and prevents the impurities that may befall it, so that we arrive at an integrated formulation of it.

I ask Allah that I have been granted success, even if only in a small measure, in offering a service in the way of the Imam of our age, may our souls be his ransom; and I ask Him, the Exalted, to sustain us and the believers with success in proceeding on the path of serving him (aj), helping us to render his rights to him, to strive in obeying him and to avoid disobeying him, and to favor us with his good pleasure and grant us his compassion and his mercy, his supplication and his goodness, by which we may attain an abundance of his mercy and triumph with him.
