(Is there a way to you, O son of Ahmad, so that you may be met?)

If we are not granted success in meeting the Master of the Age and the Time (aj), and our eyes have not fallen on his rightly guided, radiant countenance, and our hands have not clasped the whiteness of his two pure hands, then the work of the soul is stronger than all of that, for the meeting of the soul with the master of souls is open to everyone who ascends the steps of spiritual perfection through his acts of worship, his remembrances, his conduct and his striving..

.

The Exalted said: “O you who have faith! Be wary of Allah, and seek the means of recourse to Him, and wage jihad in His way, so that you may be felicitous.” (Qurʾan 5:35).

Three dimensions for the ascent of the soul according to the balance of the Holy Qurʾan, none of which should be ignored:

The first: Godwariness and sincerity.

The second: holding fast to the Ahl al-Bayt as a rope stretched between heaven and earth.

The third: jihad and effectiveness in life (the joining of knowledge with action).

Then the souls become qualified for meeting the Master of the Age and the Time, and are honored with obtaining his kindness and his mercy. It has been reported concerning the merit of the night of the fifteenth of Shaʿban, which is the night of the birth of the Master of the Age and the Time (aj), that whoever wishes the souls of one hundred and twenty-four thousand prophets to shake hands with him, let him visit al-Husayn (a) on this night.

So the ziyarah of Imam al-Husayn (a) is a passage through to the handshake of the souls of the prophets. These are the qualifications of the soul, because it is of the command of Allah the Exalted, and drawn toward the Master of the Command (aj).

O Allah, “and grant us his kindness, his mercy, his affection and his tenderness, and make us hearers of him and obedient to him, striving for his good pleasure, rallying round to support him and to defend him, and thereby seeking nearness to You and to Your Messenger—Your blessings, O Allah, be upon him and his Household.”
