Question

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful

Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings

The message was sent to the office of His Eminence the Marjaʿ al-Modarresi (may his noble shadow endure),
and the question was:
Where is shaving the body forbidden??

And is the hair from below the navel down to the penis entirely forbidden??

And the answer came:
– It is permissible to shave the hair of all parts of the body without distinction.

Dear brother, may Allah the Exalted protect you
And upon you be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings

Regarding shaving hair: it is not forbidden for a person to shave any place on his body (the body being what is below the head), meaning it does not include shaving the beard. So from the neck to the chest and the abdomen, down to the bottom of the legs, it is permissible to shave the hair there, because the question was about the body, and so was the answer.
