Is al-ʿAbbas (a) a cause of disasters?!!!

Question

Peace be upon you..

With my respect and appreciation for you, our honorable Sayed,

Many Iraqis repeat this saying: “The sign (shāra) of al-ʿAbbas will come upon you, and all kinds of punishment and affliction will descend upon you, and there will befall you disasters and days

.

of darkness, and you will become like the years of drought of Joseph, and destruction will destroy you...” This talk is strange; no one in the whole world utters it except the Iraqis, especially those near Abu al-Fadl and those who have a connection with him.... Is it right to say this!!!!!! And is it true, or merely intimidation!!!!! And is it conceivable that Abu al-Fadl (a) would destroy one of their Shiʿa and those who love them!!!!!

And what is your opinion about saying this?

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful

And upon you be peace, and the mercy of Allah

The Ahl al-Bayt (a) and their offspring are a mercy for the servants; holding fast to them is salvation from the Fire, and seeking intercession (tawassul) through them is the fulfillment of needs.. They are the rope of Allah extended between heaven and earth, and we must hold fast to this rope to reach salvation in the Hereafter and a successful life in this world.

Al-ʿAbbas (a) was of penetrating insight and firm faith. If a person adheres to his path, the doors of good open for him, and whoever supplicates at his dome, Allah accepts from him, by the leave of Allah the Exalted..

So it is not good that the Ahl al-Bayt (a) and their offspring be presented as though they were paths to perdition.. Rather, they are the ways of salvation, and through them true happiness is made complete.
