Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings
The meaning of jawamiʿ al-kalim is concise speech of complete eloquence that at the same time gathers within its folds many meanings; so speech that has this property is called jawamiʿ al-kalim.
That is why it has come in the description of the Messenger of Allah (s) that he (spoke with comprehensive words—decisive, with neither excess nor deficiency). And such are the people of his house (a): their words encompassed the sciences despite their brevity.
The Holy Qurʾan is also called (jawamiʿ al-kalim). It has been reported that the Messenger of Allah (s) said: I have been given jawamiʿ al-kalim. And Imam Abu Jaʿfar (a) was asked about jawamiʿ al-kalim, and he said: It is the Qurʾan.
The Holy Qurʾan is the summit of eloquence and concision relative to the sciences it contains, as the Exalted said: “Say, ‘If the sea were ink for the words of my Lord, the sea would be spent before the words of my Lord are finished, though We replenish it with another like it.’” (Qurʾan 18:109)
