About the book:

I do not exaggerate if I tell you, dear reader, that upon reading this book you will indeed be affected by what affected a certain person when he heard a lecture of mine about Fatimah al-Maʿsumah…

Of course, nothing but good befell him. After he finished listening to the lecture, he decided at once to make a visit to Lady Fatimah al-Maʿsumah at the site of her shrine in holy Qom, seeking the blessings in this world and in the Hereafter that the visitation (ziyārah) of this great lady grants; and there is no doubt that the positive influence will accompany everyone who connects with her and strives to visit her. The effect did not come from the wording of my speech or from my style of expression, but from the very subject I spoke about… Of course, he packed his bags, and Allah granted him success in visiting her with his family and children…

We have on this earth many of the treasures of the Hereafter. For Allah, by His vast mercy, has made for us bridges by crossing which we penetrate the veils of the Unseen, so as to reach the fragrance of Paradise and success in attaining it through the intercession of His righteous friends (awliyaʾ); and through them we penetrate the barriers that have prevented the blessings of heaven from pouring down upon us in the fulfillment of our needs and the resolution of our pending problems. There is always someone who extends to us a helping hand if the hands of others are withheld from us, and there is always someone who charges us with the fuel of faith for life. If conditions change and the clouds of society grow dense with manifestations of corruption or behaviors of vice, there is always a glimmer of hope that looks out upon us from the windows of the Unseen onto the world of the witnessed.

They are the Ahl al-Bayt (a), including their sons and daughters who embodied them. Those are the radiant lights and the manifest landmarks, through their stations and their holy resting places, for every land in which they were buried becomes sanctified… Thus the city of Qom became holy, because it laid to rest the body of the holy Fatimah al-Maʿsumah, daughter of Imam Musa al-Kazim, sister of Imam al-Rida and paternal aunt of Imam al-Jawad (a), about whom this book seeks to present a page of what history has recorded, with a loving and contemporary eye. Does not the one who is exposed to the rays of light have his features become clear and his image become complete?…

Among Allah's blessings upon us, too, is that He has made for us sources of light, so that we may expose ourselves to them, so that they may define our personalities, their features and their behaviors. The other light of Fatimah al-Maʿsumah (a) is her fragrant life-story, which embodied guidance, truth, righteousness, sincerity and all the contents of the good life of the Message to which Allah Almighty called in His Book, and which the Messenger and his Household conveyed in their conduct and their directives.

Following the example of Fatimah al-Maʿsumah makes a woman possess the qualities of the mission, distinguished by her strength in achievement, her strength in giving and her strength in faith; and this is the other light to which we expose ourselves from the light of this holy lady. What I ask of the honorable reader, by way of entreaty, is two things:

First: that he examine closely the details of the life of Fatimah al-Maʿsumah, and live with the book with all his mind and heart, and open them so as to obtain what the thirsty one obtains from gushing springs.

Second: that he not forget me in his supplication if Allah grants him success in visiting al-Maʿsumah, even from a distant place. I offer this humble effort as an offering of love to my lady, my patroness and my paternal aunt, Fatimah al-Maʿsumah (a),

and I ask the Master, Almighty, to accept from me this little, and to grant us success in what He loves and is pleased with; indeed He is All-hearing, Responsive. Sayed Mahmoud Al-Mosawi, Bani Jamra / Bahrain, 1427 AH, 2006 CE
